ABIT KT7A-Raid Motherboard
Introduction
The ABIT KT7 RAID motherboard we reviewed in our labs not long ago turned out to be one of the best in terms of performance,
features and stability. There is no better proof of reliability than utilising the board for every conceivable test one
possibly can, we did just that, and found the board to be reliable with the extent of not exactly treating it with kid gloves.
In fact, shortly after the review it quickly graduated to become our main test bed motherboard. We have never looked back
since. ABIT has without doubt been impressive in executing its belief for achieving a high level of value add, by adding a
certain pizzazz to the manufacturing of its motherboards. One only needs to sit and discuss the company's vision with its
current President who prefers to be known by only his initials "RT". I had this opportunity back in 1994 when he was ABIT's
R&D Manager, having sat with him for less than 20 minutes, his enthusiasm was immediately stamped on your forehead and it
became plainly clear here was a man with real vision, and the ability to execute that vision. Is it any wonder he is the
President of the company and why it is that Abit is able to roll out one award winner after another? (Incidentally - We are
not being paid for making this comment, but will not refuse if offered a fist full of UK Sterling - £50 notes only).
NOTE: Ensure you have the latest bios (KT7UL) when
purchasing your system. This we found to be more stable then the previous
version that was available in its 'Beta' form.
How we carried out our test
Our objective was to test the performance, implementation, stability, and compatibility of the KT7A-RAID Motherboard.
Furthermore, we wanted to compare our results with the AMD 760 review we carried out recently. To achieve our objective,
we used 3DMARK 2000, Content Creation Winstone 2000 and BAPCo's SYSmark 2000.
