AMD Duron 850MHz Processor
Performance Benchmarks Having carried out a comparative review of the 700 750 and 800Mhz recently, it is only right for us to do the same by including the 850MHz in this roundup, and turn it into a Mega Duron group test. Overall Benchmark Results
Mad Onion 3DMark 2000 3DMark 2000 is one of the best 3D performance diagnostic benchmark software currently available. To provide a comprehensive result we ran under two resolutions 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 both in 16-bit colour.
![]() As one might expect in terms of performance the Duron 850MHz is quicker than it's siblings, the question is how much? In the 1024 x 768 class the Duron 850Mhz attains 6690 3DMarks whilst the 800, 750, and 700Mhz come in at 6464, 6297 and 6140 3D marks respectively. In the 800 x 600 class the Duron 850MHz comes in with a score of 7335 3DMarks, whilst the 800, 750 and 700MHz come in at 7028, 6763 and 6540 3D marks respectively. Overall the results are consistent with the change in frequency. It is important to bear in mind the 3D tests are not purely processor dependant, the video card and it's drivers along with the supporting motherboard chipsets play a major role in these tests. The results of the 3D Mark 2000 should be used in conjunction with the other benchmarks we have attained. BAPCO - SYSmark 2000 SYSmark 2000 is an application-based benchmark that reflects today's leading edge software applications for Internet Content Creation and Office Productivity.
![]() The gap between the 750,800 and 850Mhz is consistent, but the 700MHz falls short of the 750MHz processor by 3 points, otherwise again we see uniformity between the processors. These results must be taken in the context of office applications and Internet content creation, which represents a respectable improvement. ZIFF DAVIS - Content Creation Winstone 2000 Winstone 2000 is similar to SYSmark 2000 and is used by us as a comparison to the SYSmark 2000 benchmarks.
![]() The Winstone 2000 benchmarks seem to be more in line with the processor frequencies changes with scores of 33.4 for the 850MHz, 32.4 for the 800Mhz, 31.4 for the 750MHz and 30.7 for the 700MHz processors. This equates well with the SYSmark scores and is consistent. |
