ABIT KT7-Raid Motherboard
Performance 1GHz Processor Sit back and relax, this is going to be a long one! First off is the Thunderbird 1GHz processor, which was tested without any extra tweaks, our 3DMARK 2000 (see below) benchmark score of 7952 under 800 x 600-16bit and 6994 under 1024 x 768-16bit is higher than any other we have seen. SYSmark 2000 benchmark returned a score of 194 (see below). Additionally, we decided to test under Content Creation Winstone 2000 to ensure all our benchmarks were used. The result was an outstanding score of 36.9 (see below). A quick comparison to our previous Thunderbird 1GHz review gives a clear indication the KT7 is no slow couch. The 3DMark 2000 results are streets ahead, and both the SYSMark 2000 and Winstone 2000 scores are a whisker ahead. 1.1GHz Processor This review would not be complete without a 1.1GHz comparison. So here goes, our 3DMARK 2000 benchmark in 800 x 600 returned a score of 8292 marks (see below) and in 1024 x 768 a blistering score of 7128 marks this compared to our Thunderbird 1.1GHz review which had 256Mbram onboard is slightly slower under 800 x 600 but this would be expected as the memory differential more than accounts for this, however under 1024 x 768 the KT7 shines through with an excellent score. SYSmark 2000 benchmark returns a score of 208 whilst under Content Creation Winstone 2000 a score of 40.8, reflects a decent improvement over the 1GHz benchmarks. However, if compared to the Thunderbird 1.1GHz review the scores are somewhat lower due to the memory differential. 1GHz. vs. 1.1GHz (Benchmark Comparison)
