Panrix Magnum 1.1G System
Introduction
Panrix has been in the in the direct channel
since 1990, and had earned itself an enviable reputation of providing outstanding PC performance at competitive prices, with a
sound but solid technical support team. This is clearly evident by the awards it has won for service and reliability for 1999 from
PC PRO magazine. This is Panrix's first visit into our labs, and as such we were keen to see its latest incarnation in the shape
of the Panrix Magnum 1.1G. Panrix shipped the review system to us, as soon as the request was made, allowing us to review the
system with time to spare. This is always an added advantage for any manufacturer as it allows us time enough to investigate and
provide an in depth analysis of the product being reviewed. We also appreciate the dilemma Panrix and other system integrators
face when shipping a new system, soon after the processor launch, as it just does not provide enough R&D time internally to
undertake all compatibility and reliability tests to their satisfaction. This issue is not to be viewed as a passport for undue
concern, as we would expect a reputable company such as Panrix, not to make any allowances for discrepancies. Should you wish to

How we carried out our tests
The suite of benchmarks we used enables comprehensive system performance measurement with the most popular applications covering a
wide rage of Office Productivity applications running under Windows Me operating system. To achieve this we ran BAPCo's SYSmark
2000, and 3DMark 2000 for 3D related based applications.
